Who is this therapist?

Lauren Scoggan, LCSW

Thank you for your curiosity—I’m truly glad you’re here.
My name is Lauren Scoggan. I’m newly married, and our home is happily shared with two curious cats, Mr. Meow and Mango, and our joyful tripod dog, Bizcocho. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker supporting adults and teens across Texas, and I’ve been in the social work field since 2017.

Before stepping into social work, I taught 5th grade at a Title I school in San Antonio. After completing my Master of Science in Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, I served in the Peace Corps in a rural Dominican community. My time there shaped me in profound ways—it taught me Dominican Spanish, broadened my cultural lens, and gifted me another family. These experiences continue to influence how I see the world and how I show up with clients.

I practice from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens—holding space for your identities, your lived experiences, your relationships, and the systems that shape your day-to-day life. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and it certainly doesn’t happen in a vacuum. My goal is to support you beyond a diagnosis and help you reconnect with yourself in a holistic, compassionate, and grounded way.

My intention is to help you meet the parts of yourself that feel the need to mask, to shrink, or to push feelings aside. When we greet those parts with honesty and care, they no longer have to grip the steering wheel. Together, we’ll work toward cultivating agency, peace, and authenticity—toward a version of you that feels more aligned, more empowered, and more at home within yourself.
